About Us

Masseria Pezze d'Arena is the heart of Carvinea, our family-owned winery, where history, tradition, and nature exist in perfect harmony. Nestled in the countryside of Carovigno, in the heart of Alto Salento, this charming estate dates back to the 16th century and was once one of the rural residences of Prince Dentice di Frasso family.

In 2000, Giuseppe “Beppe” Di Maria, founder of Carvinea, fell in love with this extraordinary place and recognized its potential. With deep respect for its identity, he embarked on an ambitious restoration project aimed at preserving its authenticity and historical character. Completed in 2006, the restoration was carried out using original materials and traditional techniques, restoring the Masseria’s timeless charm.

During the same years, the surrounding land was dedicated to the cultivation of Carvinea’s vineyards, giving life to a project rooted in Puglia’s oldest agricultural traditions and a profound understanding of the local terroir.

Today, while Beppe continues to dedicate himself to crafting Carvinea wines, his daughters Elisabetta and Elena carry forward the Masseria’s welcoming spirit. Elisabetta, with her passion for design and attention to detail, and Elena, hospitality entrepreneur and co-founder of Gruppo Terroni, share a commitment to preserving the authenticity of this place and its deep connection to the land.

Through their vision, Masseria Pezze d'Arena remains a place of gathering and genuine connection, where guests can experience the authentic hospitality of Puglia, surrounded by vineyards, history, and family traditions.
