About Us
Masseria Pezze d'Arena is the soul of Carvinea - our family winery in Puglia - where history, tradition, and nature unite seamlessly. Located in the picturesque countryside of Carovigno, this historic estate dates back to the 16th-century and was the residence of the noble Dentice di Frasso family.
In 2000, Beppe Di Maria, founder of Carvinea, acquired the Masseria, envisioning a revival of its timeless beauty while preserving its authenticity. The restoration process, completed in 2006, used original materials to honour its architectural heritage.
Around the same time, the surrounding land was cultivated to welcome new vineyards, adhering to Puglia's oldest agricultural traditions.
Today, it is Beppe's daughters who carry on this legacy by managing Masseria Pezze d'Arena. Betta, with her eye for aesthetics and design, and Elena, founder of Gruppo Terroni and an expert in hospitality. Their passion ensures that, while maintaining the simplicity of its origins, this Masseria remains a place of exceptional hospitality, culture, and celebration.
